This specialist CPD session is designed to give Solution Focused Hypnotherapists the knowledge, tools, and confidence to support clients undertaking the cancer journey.
Learn how to work sympathetically with clients experiencing the physical and emotional side effects of cancer treatments such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
Knowledge of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy to attend this CPD would be ideal. However, if you wish to work in a more solution-focused way, this CPD will help you to understand the principles of the SFH approach during one of life’s more challenging journeys.
Learn how the physical, emotional, and psychological aspects can impact a client from a cancer diagnosis and during treatment.
Objective: To gain an understanding of what clients might experience emotionally, physically, and psychologically during their cancer journey. To understand the different stages of the treatment journey, from diagnosis, active treatment and remission to ongoing care. To understand the potential range of client emotions and the role of SFH in offering support.
Explore the many side effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, including the lesser-known ones. Discover their impact on mental health and daily functioning.
Objective: To gain a good working knowledge of the side effects of cancer treatment including chemotherapy and radiotherapy and their implications for you as a hypnotherapist. To have a wide understanding of the physical, emotional and social impact of a cancer diagnosis.

To help clients regain a sense of control and to focus on positive future outcomes. To identify useful SFH techniques that can support these areas.
Objective: To explore how SFH can be used to support clients during cancer treatment. To use the SFH principles to support clients emotionally, physiologically and in social environments.
Analyse real-life anonymised examples of Jenny’s clients who have benefitted from SFH during cancer treatment, to support the learning experience and develop further understanding.
Objective: To support learning while building your confidence as a hypnotherapist by discussing anonymised case studies demonstrating SFH in action. To highlight learning points and to look at why SFH worked.
To become aware of current studies and clinical findings on the effectiveness of hypnosis and SFH in oncology settings. To be able to see more clearly how you can use the SFH approach to support clients in your own clinic.
Objective: To review the evidence base supporting the use of hypnotherapy in oncology.
Learn about the Cancer Act and how this impacts your advertising. How to sensitively and ethically inform your prospective clients how hypnotherapy can support them while undergoing cancer treatment.
Objective: To gain an understanding of the Cancer Act and how this might impact how we promote this area. To help practitioners feel confident in advertising their services in an ethical way to oncology clients. What to include (and avoid) in your advertising, website, and client materials.
